A group of participants from the "China - Portuguese - speaking Countries Digital Economy Seminar" visited the Macao International Carbon Emission Exchange (MEX)

On October 17, 2025, 20 participants from the "China - Portuguese - speaking Countries Digital Economy Seminar" hosted by the China - Portuguese - speaking Countries Business Co - operation Forum (Macao) visited the Macao International Carbon Emission Exchange (MEX) and held a symposium and exchanges on the theme of "Integrated Development of Digital Economy and Green Finance". Meng Meng, the general manager of MEX, warmly received the participants of the seminar.

The participants of this seminar came from China and nine Portuguese - speaking countries, namely Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea - Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor - Leste. They included officials and professionals from various fields such as government departments, telecommunications, finance, and information technology.

During the visit, the staff of the exchange introduced to the participants the innovative practices and achievements of the Macao International Carbon Emission Exchange (MEX) in promoting the construction of the international carbon market and the development of green and low - carbon. The two sides had in - depth discussions on topics such as the application of digital technology in carbon trading, the opportunities for international cooperation in the carbon market, and the cooperation prospects between China and Portuguese - speaking countries in the green and low - carbon field.

This exchange activity not only deepened the understanding of the participants from Portuguese - speaking countries about the development of China and Macao in the fields of carbon trading and green finance, but also built an important platform for further promoting the cooperation between China and Portuguese - speaking countries in the fields of digital economy and sustainable development.
