MEX Officially Joins IETA
On the occasion of the combined National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the Macao International Carbon Emission Exchange (hereinafter referred to as "MEX") has officially become a member of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA).
As a global leader in market-driven climate solutions, IETA has long been committed to advancing the global net-zero transition. MEX's official accession to IETA marks a crucial step in its efforts to connect with global climate action.

As Macao's sole carbon emissions exchange, MEX's mission is to serve the country's "dual carbon" goals and build a bridge for China-international climate cooperation. Its accession to IETA is highly aligned with this mission. Moving forward, MEX will further deepen cooperation with market entities, policy institutions, and innovation partners within IETA's network. Leveraging Macao's unique advantages as a free port, it will promote alignment with international carbon markets and continue fostering a high-quality carbon market ecosystem.
Meanwhile, MEX will work alongside IETA members from over 60 countries and regions to jointly advance the achievement of the climate goals outlined in the Paris Agreement.
We look forward to collaborating with all partners to gradually translate the net-zero vision into practical actions and tangible outcomes, contributing to global climate governance.
